At just 22 years old and following the success of his former duo Videoclub, which now boasts over 3 million monthly listeners-thanks in particular to the iconic track Amour plastique, with 250 million streams - Matthieu Reynaud, aka Mattyeux, continues to share the soundtrack of his life through his music.
In October 2024, Mattyeux released his very first solo album, Mirages, composed of 12 tracks. This album marks a pivotal moment in his career as a solo artist. With an alternative pop style tinged with melancholy, he offers melodies that express the beauty and fragility of human emotions, shifting between sadness and joy.
With an old notebook in the back pocket of his jeans and a pencil behind his ear, Mattyeux roams the streets in search of inspiration, jotting down rhymes on paper-reminiscent of Leonardo DiCaprio in Basketball Diaries. Like Jim Carroll, he is passionate about poetry, which fuels his songwriting.
Inspired by 1990s cinema, Mattyeux creates songs that immerse us in the atmosphere of a film where we are the hero, blending cheerfulness, doubt, nostalgia, and romantic feelings. On Mirages, he also fulfills a childhood dream by collaborating with artists he admires?most notably Princess Chelsea, with whom he composed the bilingual track Sometimes.
Matthieu has a clear artistic vision. He is a free and independent spirit, refusing to conform to industry standards. Surrounded by his close circle, he maintains complete artistic independence. His sister, Julie Reynaud, helps direct the videos for his debut singles: Break up diaries (inspired by the world of Romeo + Juliet), Sometimes with Princess Chelsea, and the deeply poetic Honnête. In 2023, Matthieu also composed the music for Apocalypse Calypso, a track by Mika.
